Childhood program improves health 30 years later | Science News.

Though this study was relatively small, it clearly shows the impact of early-education (before the age of 5), including emotional self-regulation and proper nutrition on not just health but also social benefits (lower crime, better paying jobs, higher test scores, etc). This demonstrates once again that individual health and socio-economic health are inseparable. It is time to re-vision what health and health-care is and take a far-bigger scope than annual check ups and vaccinations when young and blood-pressure meds and statins when older. Imagine how a national health-care and education system that focused on this age group would have on a countries health and economy (in both savings and ROI)?
